A Harry Potter reboot is releasing on Christmas this year, but this is why it has less hope:
1. Harry Potter is not very old
The last Harry Potter movie came out in 2011, only 15 years ago. Since then even 3 movies of the Fantastic Beasts have also rolled up.
With Internet, OTT, re-releases(such as 20th anniversary release), it is still in our memories and has not been forgotten. So a new Harry Potter may be a risky move.
2. TypeCast Actors
Look, since it is not too old, we still remember Daniel Radcliffe as Harry, Emma Watson as Hermione and always they shall remain the original cast. This happens for all remakes that ever been created in history, new actors are always compared with the OG cast, and any imperfections lead to trolling rather than appreciation
3. Color Grading
The trailer released today, and I have absolutely no idea why it appears so dark, like come on, it's the philosopher's stone, the most light hearted version. What will happen to Deathly Hallows then? The vibrant colors are missing and mostly gloomy lightings of Hogwarts, the Train are visible, that do not create a good feeling
4. Snape
Snape is described as a person with greasy hair, sallow and pale skin, sometimes going marble white when in certain situations but the new actor is black, and his hair is also not greasy but has braids. He wears a zipper! Like come on, at least Hogwarts Proffessors wear good robes. He is facing backlash because of this.
5. Final Thoughts
So ultimately, we have to wait till Christmas to see how it turns out, the question will be whether it disappoints Potterheads or overjoys them.
