Review : Dhurandhar

A Review of Dhurandhar: A Masterpiece of Modern Indian Cinema

Plot

Rating : 8/10

The story is absolutely thrilling, and an emotional roller coaster depicting Jaskirat 's sorrowful past, his mission, his execution. The Dhurandhar Part 1 discusses his ability to infiltrate the gang of Rehman Dakait, and the Revenge is where he takes revenge of the atrocities of the Pakistani Terrorists. The plot twist the end is shocking and adds a new layer of depth.

The idea of the plot is to look at simultaneously occuring events in Lyari & Pakistan & India, from the execution of Terrorists by unknown men to real encounters of Rehaman Dakait, and somehow fit a fictional character - Hamza, to show how he orchestrates this process.

However, I deduct a point, here solely on the basis of these loopholes :

1. If Bade Sahab is Dawood, and Jameel Jamali was poisoning him for 20+ years, what was the need of this? He is an Indian spy and must execute the person. It could be shown as an accidental death due to food poisoning. While even at death Bed, Dawood plans big events like 26/11, Punjab etc, so why did Jameel Jamali even try to keep him alive. At least one problem could have been solved.

2. Even though Demonetisation, as shown in Film is due to 60,000 crores of fake currency, nothing as such occured and caused lots of economy damage to India. In a fictional perspective it works very well, but the film AT that point, goes out of its way for it used Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi's footages, making it look like Propaganda. I say, it is not propaganda but it has been framed in a wrong way so it appears like Propaganda. This whole thing could have worked very well, if a fictional PM was created, just as many other films do, but using real current PM, showed wrong message.

Music

Rating: 10/10

The Music of the film is a phenomenal piece of art, absolutely fabulous, exemplifying the experience of watching the film and giving a feeling of witnessing an epic. Old classic songs were remixed in amazing ways, while songs like Rasputin were used to show the real mood.

Performance & Casting

Rating : 10/10

Mind blowing, real and versatile performances by all actors, Ranveer, Arjun, Akshay, Rakesh Bedi, Danish. But on top of that I'd say the casting director deserves a bigger round of applause. All characters look exactly like those inspired from. Perfect Casting has been done. I mean just look at this who will believe these are two people.

Final Rating

Rating : 9.3/10

Absolutely thrilling, high re-watch value, and built with great vision. The film is earning a lot at the box office. As of 28 March, it has earned ₹1,243 crore at box office. It has also broken Bahubali 's record of Highest Grossing Indian Film in US currently at $20.8 million (₹196 Crore).
Earning at fast pace as it is, it might become, Bollywood's highest grossing movie of all time.

Thoughts on new Harry Potter Series

A Harry Potter reboot is releasing on Christmas this year, but this is why it has less hope: 1. Harry Potter is not very old The last Harry Potter movie came out in 2011, only 15 years ago. Since then even 3 movies of the Fantastic Beasts have also rolled up.  With Internet, OTT, re-releases(such as 20th anniversary release), it is still in our memories and has not been forgotten. So a new Harry Potter may be a risky move.  2. TypeCast Actors  Look, since it is not too old, we still remember Daniel Radcliffe as Harry, Emma Watson as Hermione and always they shall remain the original cast. This happens for all remakes that ever been created in history, new actors are always compared with the OG cast, and any imperfections lead to trolling rather than appreciation 3. Color Grading  The trailer released today, and I have absolutely no idea why it appears so dark, like come on, it's the philosopher's stone, the most light hearted version. What will happen to Death...
